Hi! My name is Alison Haines and I’m a published author of Young Adult/New Adult (NA/YA) fiction. My recent publication is Guardians Society Book One: The Secrets They Keep.
Outside of writing, I enjoy hiking, reading, video games, cooking, and all things crafty. I love being outside with my family, especially in the warmer months. I would hibernate in the winter if possible, but my toddler doesn’t allow it. I love learning to cook new things from different cultures. My husband is a very willing taste tester, and luckily my toddler also has an adventurous palate.
Speaking of family, I am married to Jared, an abundantly supportive, smart, wonderful husband and father. He has been pivotal in my decision to pursue my love for writing. My daughter, Emily, is energetic, stubborn, adorable, and seriously hilarious. She certainly keeps life busy, and watching her grow and learn is a joy; an exhausting tear filled but still amazing joy.
Non-writing career wise, I am a Registered Nurse and have been since 2009. I have worked in Pediatric Intensive Care, Immunology, and most recently in the academic setting, teaching for McMaster University in the B.Sc.-Nursing program. I love being a nurse, minus the shift work, but I am also loving the transition to focusing on another one of my passions: Writing. If you have any other questions about me, please feel free to ask :)
